New Top Rock Restaurant

They've closed for quite some time but reopened a few months ago, this time with a new menu featuring Western cuisine. So, I suggested my family go there to try out the new offerings. Their deep-fried chicken, which costs only MYR12, is the main highlight of the menu. We ordered the grilled chicken thigh. It's thick cut and boneless but heavily marinated with Maggi liquid seasoning sauce, likely to mask an odd smell. Each meal came with a side of small portion fries and coleslaw. This restaurant is located on top of hill and nearby housing area of Taman Formosa. Customer may choose indoor & outdoor dining area with great view of Bundusan & cozy ambient. I've been eating here since it's open, and they're familiar with us. Boss lady is friendly and talkative, and their staffs are helpful. Our favourite menu; Germany deep fried pig trotter, Mongolian lamb, sweet & sour pork, Shisamo (new menu), stir fried sabah veggie with eggs (not in the picture), stir fried Chinese lettuce with fermented bean curd & chilli. Sometimes they've hidden or seasonal menu. I've tried their braised bat once, but now no more due to the pandemic case & in order to avoid people being paranoid. They've other menu like dumplings, either boiled or pan grilled. Anyhow, they used to serve it with black vinegar with garlic, but now they serve it with soy sauce thus it's weird & superb salty.
