Open for breakfast

They are open for breakfast since 6.30am. We were there around 8.30am. We chose this from the breakfast menu and added on tandoori chicken. Surprisingly the waitress mentioned that everything else on the menu was available too, not only the breakfast menu. It was a heavy breakfast so we didn't eat lunch after this. It's roti canai with a sunny side up egg, plus butter chicken and dhal. It was very filling and I didn't even manage to finish the other piece of roti, but my husband finished everything. The set comes with a drink - orange / apple juice, teh or kopi tarik. I picked the hot Kopi tarik while my husband selected the orange juice. My coffee was wonderfully made while the juice was real juice.

Enjoyable Lunch

Despite the mixed reviews about this restaurant, we had a good experience during lunch time on a weekday. Service was quick and the waitresses were attentive. We ordered the food in the pictures and two drinks - masala tea (hot) and teh tarik (ice) to be shared between two people. Mee Mamak - quite tasty, big portion Butter chicken - this was delicious Cheese naan - it was okay but not enough cheese Tandoori chicken - it was okay We found out that they are actually open for breakfast too from 6.30am, and there is a separate breakfast menu. So, will I go back? Hmmm, maybe. It's a lovely place, I like Indian food, perhaps can explore other items on the menu. But I was 7/10 happy with what I ordered.

🥘 Taste The Magic of The Blue Tandoor 💙

Exploring new Indian restaurants around town is my interest. Recently, a husband-and-wife team from Brunei opened their second branch, the first in Malaysia, and their first branch is in Brunei. Their menu is blending North, South Indian flavours and local Arab cuisine. Mr Owner told me their chefs are originally from India to ensure customers enjoy the finest and authentic Indian cuisine. Mrs Owner highly recommends their signature dishes; lamb shank biryani and butter chicken masala. They serve desserts like house made Kulfi, Kunafa, Gulub Jamun, also Indian flavoured pizza. The restaurant’s luxurious interior decoration makes me feel like I’m dining in an Arabian palace, and the owners are present regularly, ensuring that the service, meals and operations run smoothly. Here’s what I ordered… Lamb Briyani (regular) Butter Chicken Masala (solo) Garlic Naan Plain Lassi Fresh Deep Fried Papadum The lamb is well-marinated, tender, and I enjoyed the aromatic fragrance of the basmati rice infused with spices. The garlic naan I ordered here is different from what I’ve had at other Indian restaurants. Their naan is more like a simpler, lighter, thin roti rather than the fluffy, airy, and soft texture I was expected. Regardless, both briyani and naan perfectly pairing with the butter chicken masala. Tender pieces of chicken are cooked in a creamy, spiced tomato sauce that’s smooth and mildly tangy, without being overly acidic. Making it such a comforting and flavourful side dish. What caught my attention most was the beautiful presentation of the dishes and drinks, served in elegant rose gold handis. Handi is traditional Indian household cooking ware for slow cooked and serving. Kthxbye.
