I pulled up to this spot because their menu teased ikan baulu, and I thought, alright, let’s give it a shot.
The experience went downhill the moment I reached the entrance, the door posted CLOSED sign at the same time the window posted OPEN sign, so confusing which already felt like a red flag.
I walked in anyway and asked if they were operating. The staff was glued to his phone, and another was sleeping on the diner couch. Not exactly the warm vibes you’d expect when walking into an eatery.
When me and Mr Hubby tried ordering, the staff couldn’t answer basic questions about the menu. Fine, maybe he’s new. I let that slide. However when the food came, things got even more confusing….
The plate I received looked nothing like the menu photo. The okra shown in the picture? Gone. Instead, I got a perfectly deep-fried ikan baulu plus few slices of tempeh and aubergine that tucked under.
Overall? The food is passable, the baulu fish was the only win, anyhow the service? That needs a serious level up. And the food presentation should at least try to match the menu’s promise.
The whole experience feels messy, mismatched and unprofessional.
Kthxbye.
