Okay, so picture this: I was snapping pics with my Berries Jasmine Sorbet at Phileo Gelato, capturing sweet memories... and boom, I dropped the heart-shaped wafer onto the floor! 🙈
BUT WAIT – the owner was incredibly generous and replaced it immediately! This time, she carefully inserted the wafer deeper so it stayed put! Good move.
The sorbet? It had the perfect balance of fruity berries and that subtle jasmine twist. Refreshing with every bite. If you're craving some good gelato, Phileo Gelato is the place to go. Oh, another thing – they normally weigh the scooped ice cream to make sure you get a standard weight with each purchase. Love the consistency!
In fact, I used to swing by 88 Marketplace around 5pm to buy my gelato and then check out The Dough’s 20% discount on all bakes after 5pm. If you're lucky, you might even snag your favorite from their 40% off shelf section. It’s like killing two birds with one stone!

I decided to stop by to see what flavours they have today after breakfast. I ended up getting two premium flavors: pink guava hamoi & peach oolong.
There are additional MYR2 charged for the premium flavours, some flavours are available once in a while. Both flavours taste creamy & milky.

我個人覺得真的很值得去嘗試看看他們的gelato
雖然說價格的確是比起普通冰淇淋貴，但畢竟他們使用原材料做的gelato所以個人覺得是值得的
而且很多口味都很本地化：cempedak、avocado、gula melaka等等的都很推薦！
A very localised gelato cafe, serving coffee too!
But very recommend their gelato: cempedak, avocado, gula melaka etc
And yes, the price quite high but I think it worth with that price since they really used the GOOD and REAL ingredients, just not like some shop use flavouring to make it🫰🏼

Tasted exactly like lemon tart! And also loved their peach oolong flavour, very rich tea flavour, like I was eating a cup of milk tea instead 😂big scoop and not overly sweet

Their gelato is freshly homemade. My favorite flavor is Cempedak; it is very rich😍
I recommend everyone to give it a try👍🏻

1. Cempedak gelato
Strong & potent aroma of the fruit itself! Guarantee packed with rich flavour with chunks and bits of cempedak. If you're craving for local taste buds, definitely recommend this.
2. Calamansi Lime Sorbet
The tartiness from the lime with the combination of sweet and savoury. Very refreshing and highly addictive!
3. Black Sesame Tofu
Strong hint of nutiness from the sesame along with the smooth light texture.
*Fyi there's no Tofu to be found in the gelato so don't worry or be sceptical about it*

Not many people truly understand the essence of "Gelato"! It's a departure from the typical ice cream we're accustomed to, being bolder, more intense, and healthier. Having journeyed through various parts of the world, I stumbled upon this hidden gem nestled in the corner of 88 Bikers Centre. Their gelatos are sooo good omgg don't talk so much just go and try them out yourselves!
In terms of pricing, a single scoop of Gelato typically costs $7 (like Amorino) in other countries, so paying RM 10 to RM 12 per scoop here is exceptionally worthwhile, given the generous amount of ingredients that go into each flavor. I'm genuinely impressed by their innovative blend of Italian Gelato concepts with our local fruits—an ingenious way to promote our local flavors. I'm committed to standing by them until more people discover the exquisite taste of this hidden treasure. Let's embrace it, fellow Sabahans!

I would say… give it a try! Never try never know maaa 😆
But the price is slightly overrated? But again the portion is quite good so win win situation?
While for the premium taste is not worth it for me 😓 over rm10 for ice cream? I literally scream 🥶
