I recently hosted a dinner with friends and ordered the ebi katsu combo set, which came with tamagoyaki, miso soup and steamed Japanese pearl rice.
Before the meal was served, there was a special ritual involving 'surigoma', the grinding of sesame seeds.
The aroma filled the air as I coarsely ground the sesame seeds in a small bowl. Mixing it with the sweet and sour sauce provided definitely flavour enhancer.
The prawn tempura was disappointing due to its thick coating, but the other dishes were delightful, the place is warm though.

They make really good cutlets and karaage so I assume anything fried should be good. But the unagi was not my thing - very very fishy considering I eat seafood all the time. If you're looking for a more atas and pricey place to eat in Kolombong, this is it. They serve pork mind. 🙂

Salmon Sashimi RM26
- 3pcs petite salmon 🥲, abit pricey compare to other Japanese restaurants.
Katsu Don Set RM32
- I choose Rosu Katsu (Pork Cutlet), set included miso soup. Portions is big, couldn’t finish the rice and pork, had to spare some to my husband 😅 Taste wise ehm so so saja lah.
Chicken Teriyaki Set RM22
- Few slices chicken, and not really into my taste. Set included miso soup & chawan mushi. So so lah~🙂
Environment and services are good. Clean, quiet and chill, and you have bottomless Japanese Tea 👍

This is another favorite Japanese restaurant of mine
I ordered Yakiniku Don set (grilled sliced beef) and Buta Combo set (breaded fried pork loin cutlet & tenderloin cutlet)
Both sets are my favourite 😍
The pork cutlets were tender and crispy on the outside. Generous portion of sliced beef with kimchi, well marinated
Price on the higher side
Ambience not too bad
Service not to bad as well

To be honest, food was average. Nothing to complain but nothing special to comment.. Everything is just normal for me HEHE.

Food is nice and different from the Japanese restaurant sushi chains we have in kk. Chicken katsu is thick and juicy. Price wise it's on the expensive side but their payment options are limited to cash only or direct transfer. So load up more cash first if your heading here.
The interior design is quite nice though.
