🥢 The Art of Surigoma - Sesame Grinding 🍤

I recently hosted a dinner with friends and ordered the ebi katsu combo set, which came with tamagoyaki, miso soup and steamed Japanese pearl rice. Before the meal was served, there was a special ritual involving 'surigoma', the grinding of sesame seeds. The aroma filled the air as I coarsely ground the sesame seeds in a small bowl. Mixing it with the sweet and sour sauce provided definitely flavour enhancer. The prawn tempura was disappointing due to its thick coating, but the other dishes were delightful, the place is warm though. Kthxbye.
