Sushi King Suria Sabah

What drew me to Sushi King this time was their Mix and Match menu — designed to be shared between 2 to 3 people, with an affordable price tag to match. I picked Ten Don, Spicy Teri Tama Don, and Chicken Nanban Don, and shared with Mr Hubby. It was a satisfying spread with variety to keep things interesting. Each rice bowl had its own character — 🍤 Ten Don came with assorted tempura on rice, 🌶️ Spicy Teri Tama Don brought a nice kick with its spicy sauce and egg combo, and 🍗 Chicken Nanban Don was deep fried karaage topped with creamy tartar. However, they used to offer a MYR2 add-on for miso soup with the sets, but during our last weekend dine-in, that option was no longer available. Mr Hubby was pretty disappointed. I tried to make up for him by ordering a Kinoko Soup and Yasai Tempura, but both turned out to be a absolute letdown. The soup took ages to arrive and looked nothing like what was shown. The cabbage was undercooked, and overall it lacked of flavour and visual unappealable as well. As for the Yasai Tempura, it felt like more mushrooms, thick-cut lotus root, and a couple of peas. The batter was lumpy and soggy, making the texture unappetizing. The only dish that was served hot was the soup, other dishes were thick and soggy batter also arrived nearly cold. That really killed the joy of dining in. Kthxbye.

Didn't know there was such an event until the end of our dinner 😂 We claimed the red plate instead because we had already wrapped up our meal, even tho rugi but at least free cheesecake lah hahahaha Curry udon not bad, portion very small :(

Redeemed my last free birthday treat before January ends from the Sushi King app – a cakesicle, just like a Magnum ice cream! Crunchy chocolate coating with delicious cake inside. No need to redeem on the exact birthdate too! And guess what? While waiting for our order, played a game on the Sushi King tablet and won a Mango Peach drink and a single scoop Vanila ice cream! ! Another plus, I got a rebate of RM11 from my accumulated points on my total bill! Free treats and savings – always a win!
