Itβs been a while since my last visit, and I must say β this place has reignited my faith once again. From the moment we stepped in, everything just felt right: service was impressively swift, the service crews were attentive, and the food? Still worth waking up early for.
I went for their Premium Laksa King, and it came crowned with three jumbo-sized prawns nestled in a rich broth. One spoon of soup and I could tell it was the first batch of soup for the day β savory, comforting, with just a touch of creaminess that didnβt overpower.
I remembered how different it tasted during my last visit in the late afternoon β that version was noticeably creamier and heavier. This morningβs version felt lighter, fresher, and closer to what Iβd originally fallen in love with. Also, it came exactly pictured in the menu.
Mr Hubby decided to try their mixed beef and paired it with a pickled calamansi drink, which he really enjoyed β tangy, slightly salty, and refreshing. Unfortunately, the mixed beef wasnβt quite to his liking. The flavours didnβt hit the mark, he was happier with the Tuaran noodles.
At one point, he thoughtfully got me a small dish of sambal to spice things up, but even that sparked a mini food critique β he felt it tasted commercial, like the kind you could pick up from a supermarket shelf. Familiar, but lacking that extra house-made touch.
By 0730am, the place started packed with locals and tourists, all looking for a good start to the day. If you want to beat the crowd, come by 0700am β that peaceful pre-rush window is the real sweet spot. Still, for me, the laksa was the star, and I walked away satisfied.
Kthxbye.
