Despite positive reviews I read online, my experience with this local's favourite Hong Kong congee wasn't quite as exceptional as I had hoped.
Here's what we ordered...
Congee with fresh fish fillet + century egg
Congee with pork offal
Fried egg toast
Teh C kaw (hot)
The thinly sliced fish fillet was meager in portion. The century egg was only half and lacked of flavour.
However, Mr Hubby seemed to enjoy his congee and egg toast, most likely due to a hint of added sweetness.
I appreciated the coffee shop offers individually wrapped utensils which I find to be hygienic and safe too.
Mr Owner is friendly and greetings his customers with warm smiles when they left. He accepts cash only.
The congee tends to be mild, the assorted seasonings available on the table, allow each customer to customise their bowl according to their taste preferences.

This stall is one of my favourite stall!
Porridge - always nice. U can choose with egg or without. And the taste its really like hong kong feel.
Bread - can opt for special (egg toasted bread + luncheon meat) the best combination.
Service - the waiter sometimes like in rush.. they have no patient to wait u to think longer to order 🤭 (just like hk style but more polite way) And pls use for kicap / pepper / others sauce fast, they will “transfer to other table very fast 😭”
Environment - its near the corridor/ toilet. So maybe sit near the lift exit is better. And sometimes might be packed with people. Sometimes u have to finish it fast cause people are waiting “right” beside your table and staring at you, signalling “hey, pls finish it faster” 🤣 (the stress is real).

This shop is located inside an old mall. Operated by an old couple. They have been here for 20 years 😮
I ordered fish porridge (rm10) and bread (rm3). The fish porridge is big portion, they use fresh and good fish. Meat is thick. Not those vietnamese dolly fish. Porridge already taste good without extra seasonings.
The bread is legendary. Moisture ngam ngam hao. Not too wet not too dry. Better than my wife.
But I don't like the location, it is nearby the toilet, and many ppl passing through.

My first try was with my hubby… being so sakai for only knowing this shop last year🥲
Their porridge nice very hk feel and you must order their luncheon meat and egg bread because it is like a must order menu 😆😆
To be honest i like the porridge, the others is normal for me heheheh.
But I really don’t like their service here. The waitress very impolite by showing her very very very beh song face to me and my friend which i do not know i had done any wrong. 🙂 and even 翻白眼🙄️ to me. Ya well my problem maybe. Hehe
