Rose Banana Leaf restaurant is permanently closed. Couldn't believe nor accept, innit? As I aware often, I saw multiple big signs of 'No Parking Here' at the houses opposite the restaurant. I figure out customer must have been parked at people's front house & causing huge inconvenience. Therefore, they complaint to the restaurant's owner. I'm sincere apologies to the owner & the neighbourhood. Anyway, for Rose Banana Rice lover, they've relocated & will reopen next month! No worries, steady bom bb... This is the first time I have walked out of a banana leaf rice shop not feeling happy and satisfied. After we sat down, it took some time before someone handed us the menu, and then it took a while before we got to place orders. It wasn't packed at all. OK, maybe we were used to fast service from other banana leaf rice shop. So not too big a deal but it just went downhill from there. There was not much choice of food to order. We ordered the basic banana leaf rice set, then had to go outside to pick the main dish. There was only a pathetic selection of 3 meats to choose from. We picked the chicken dish. There was only two vege side dishes on the banana leaf. It was quite ok. However, the fish curry...... well, I don't hv anything nice to say, so no comment. The most infuriating thing is that a lot of food items were not available such as egg. I requested for egg for my son, it could be fried egg or omelette, anything basically. But there was none, according to the waiter. Unbelievable. And no fried chicken as well. So there was nothing for my kids to eat except papadom and orange juice. So we hurriedly just ate our unsatisfactory meal and had to head off elsewhere for the kids to have something. I don't usually post negative reviews as I understand it could be damaging, so just wanna say that this is my experience today. Maybe they will have better selection of food for dinner 🤷‍♀️ What I like was the spacious place and nice drink - teh tarik ais.

I’ve been seeing so many many Indian food in Sabah review recently and the crave of eating Indian food got me come here! My first option was krishna since I had a great experience there but they close at 8pm and we were late 🫢 So after reading so many reviews imma give rose banana leaf a try, since they close at 10pm. We ordered chicken 65 (as they call it 😂) and mutton curry, mango lassi, and canai kosong. I’m quite comfortable with their ambience as it is spacious enough and many seatings. Their food isn’t too bad at all but the time we went it’s almost everything oos (out of stock) so no choice we had white rice instead of briyani & the chicken is cold already so taste quite hard, mutton curry mostly fats (then again it’s bc everything’s about to finish) so kinda had their “leftovers” 😂 The mango lassi SUPER NICE! I love it!! Roti canai was normal but their daal is quite nice even though this daal doesn’t taste like any other daal (it doesn’t taste very strong but maybe ideally it’s not meant to be?) Pro tips: FREE refill everything on the banana leaf 🤫 but you pandai pandai la don’t ask for 3 times refill 🫣

Believe it or not, this is my first time trying banana leaf rice 😂 I have been so uncultured and missing out on such good food. My sister be shaking her head and lowkey judging me, when I told her I have never had banana leaf rice. Anyhoo, so we share: 1. Mutton Briyani - A bit spicy for me, but it's really fragrant. I would risk being 🥵🥵🥵 for this. The mutton was really good and tender (hidden underneath the rice). I really love the keropok (someone educate me on what's the name of the keropok) 😂 The side dishes, cabbage, pickled cucumber and pumpkin 😍 especially the pumpkin 2. Sweet Lassi - It's kind of like a yogurt drink, interestingly good 🤤 can reduce the 🥵 from the briyani, it's a good combo to order this as a drink to a main dish Overall, we enjoyed our meal, 1 briyani for 2, very filling, cuz can refill the side dishes, so it's very worth it. Service was good, plus you can choose between indoor (got AC) seats or outside (got ceiling fans) seats

I discovered this banana leaf rice restaurant during February. I've been drop by to get my Briyani & coffee cravings fix once in a month. Their briyani is fragrance instead of just spicy at other typical Indian restaurants. The manager explained to me why their Bamboo Briyani are extraordinary, also they ordered their spices & basmati rice specially from India. They steamed the basmati rice, egg, mutton or chicken in a bamboo and served it on a banana leaf with 3 side dishes of the day, then you can select curry sauce based on personal preference (chicken, fish, lamb, dhal). Limited quantity daily as well. If you're order banana leaf rice set, the steamed white rice, curry & side dishes veggies are free flow except Briyani. Nevertheless, their Chai Masala tea, coffee brew & mango lassi are highly recommended. What's so special? According to the manager, they use spices to cook the tea, unlike other's restaurants, they use instant recipe & ingredients which doesn't taste authentic. The coffee brew is my favourite & regular drink, it taste smooth & milky. On the other hand, mango lassi is blended using fresh mango! I went back last weekend with families & friends, they've new menus - Dosa & Paratha. I ordered butter chicken & ghee dosa ( I requested & love crispy type), meanwhile my brother ordered plain & egg paratha (they don't call it roti canai). They served it on a banana leaf, mine dosa come with chutney. I've ordered their grilled masala & deep fried battered prawns, both cooking methods make the prawns taste outstanding (my brother ate the whole deep fried prawns including the shell, he said delicious). Anyhow, limited parking space, and their dishes sold out fast! If you're late than 8pm, good luck. They accept cash & e-wallets. I always make reservation with their manager & place orders to avoid any disappointment. P/s: they'll have new dishes coming soon on May! Check out my ig:_humanburrito.bki for videos & pictures

[HALAL] Trying this Bamboo Chicken Briyani for the very first time and I LOVE IT 😍 Make sure u ask for the special fried chili 🌶, so so good, salty and spicy Also I ordered Mango Lassi, not bad, not that sweet, so ngam my taste. But I prefer it to be smoother

The portion for nasi briyani is real big ! The price is rm19 for chicken nasi briyani. (P3 is only half of the nasi briyani) I also ordered the banana leaf white rice set (RM8.90 per set), it comes with 3 side dishes and papadom. All the side dishes, papadom and rice can be free refilled !!! But the portion given is big enough for 2 people to share it. U can choose additional lauk, there are chicken, tauhu, fish, and mutton. I ordered one of the chicken lauk, served in 4 pieces of chicken at RM9. Overall it’s a nice place to have some Indian cuisine, price is acceptable and also delicious 🤤

I ordered mutton nasi bamboo, and I am very shocked with the portion (like can finished it with 3 person) 😂 This is my 2nd time visiting here, first time - lunch and second time - dinner. The curry is a bit spicy but bearable 🥵🥵 everything is heavy taste, I like 😝😝 The first time I went was around 1pm, and the rotisssss were only available from 2pm onwards so I told myself I will visit again to try the rotissss. As expected, the roti canai kosong & thosai taste so good 👅 👅 match with their speciality sauces. You can choose to eat with hand or cutleries. My dad likes to eat with hand cuz he says like taste better. Service is good, the staffs are quite attentive. Will visit again next time when I miss banana leaf ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 🚗 🚗 🚗 They have a big space for parking beside the shop. Rest assured, you won’t go to toilet because of the spicyness or get thirsty because of Ajinomoto 😛💫

OK guys. I can't finish it. Its like portion for dua orang. If ladies should share. Tak kan waste food. Food is okay. They give everything A LOT. Taste okay and fresh. The place is big. Got indoor (aircon) and outdoor (fan) but very hard to find parking. Its near the tanjung aru roundabout. Place is a bit dirty and there's a lot of flies. Service is good. A lot of waiters and waitress. Very fast to serve. A bit expensive. Hehe.

I think this is their 2nd branch ( first branch at Sandakan ) I tried their famous "bamboo" biryani mutton 💲 Rm25 per set Taste so nice & super big portion ( feel bad that i cannot finish ) you can also refill for Papadam Staff service is very good & polite 👍🏻 Environment is clean , easy to get parking Located near tanjung aru beach Definitely will come back again , but next time need to share with friend 🤪
